BBC Ten Pieces
BBC Ten Pieces have really enjoyed all of the amazing work you have done with Ten Pieces III this year, from taking part in their live lesson, to creating your own versions of No Place Like and putting on your Ten Pieces School Assemblies as part of the Biggest Weekend. They are now getting really excited about the Ten Pieces Proms coming up at the Royal Albert Hall on 29 July 2018. If you’re close enough why not join them in person or otherwise listen live on BBC Radio 3.
In the 2018/19 academic year Ten Pieces is going to be encouraging everyone to get creative with the 30 Pieces from across Ten Pieces I, II and III. They will also be launching some new resources and some opportunities to take part in some BIG BBC EVENTS throughout the year.
See below for more information about what is happening next year:
- New primary lesson plans for TP I & II
- Bespoke resources for disabled young people and those with additional needs
- New resources tailored to under 7s
Big BBC Moments (dates for your diary!)
28 September 2018, BBC Music Day Ten Pieces Warm-up

7 January – 5 April 2019, Ten Pieces Earth Challenge!
With the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and the 100th anniversary of The Planets, 2019 is a great year to explore the topic of space. Learn about the solar system and create your own piece inspired by Earth – the only planet Holst didn’t create a piece for. Upload your piece to Twitter by 5 April 2019 using the hashtag #BBCTenPiecesEarth for a chance to have your piece featured on our website on Earth Day 2019 (22 April).
7 June 2019, BBC Music Day Ten Pieces Assemblies
Finish the Ten Pieces year by holding a Ten Pieces Assembly for BBC Music Day. A Ten Pieces Assembly is a great chance to celebrate the work you have done throughout the year – perform a creative response, watch the films, play the pieces… The only limit is your imagination! Click here for inspiration from previous Ten Pieces Assemblies.
