The Scunthorpe Cooperative Choir

Award Winning Choir

The Scunthorpe Cooperative Junior Choir and Training Choir is an upper voice choir and has been performing for more than 85 years. It owes its genesis to the Cooperative Movement and links are still fostered and maintained where appropriate. The choir is embedded in the local community of Scunthorpe and the rural areas of North Lincolnshire. It has an ‘open access’ ethos, welcoming all children into its ranks and training them up to the highest standards. The choir aims to raise the aspirations of all those who sing and is known as an ambassador for the area and Scunthorpe in particular.

In addition to the Main Choir, there are two training choirs with children starting as young as three years of age. The organisation cherishes the training choirs, which ensure continuity and progression.
