The Early Years Support /Key Stage 1 programme introduces the very basic concepts in music of rhythm, pulse, pitch and performing through exciting and engaging activities in the classroom. This is designed to introduce an early understanding of the building blocks of music.
Whole Class Instrumental Tuition (WCIT) aims to allow every child access to learn to play a musical instrument at Key Stage 2. This is delivered in large groups and involves a variety of music making activities including singing, playing, rhythm and activity games, listening and composing. It is designed to provide a strong basis for music education and instrumental learning. This initiative provides a solid foundation for a musical future for all children.
The high quality of the service is assured through rigorous monitoring and continued professional development of all the teaching staff. All staff undertake regular training in safeguarding issues and are DBS cleared.
