Traditional Music and Dance Workshop for Young People

Folklincs are delighted to offer a traditional Music and Dance workshop for young people on Monday 8 April 2019. So if you fancy trying clog and sword dancing or learning a few traditional tunes with our experienced tutors, come along and join us.

Venue: Oasis Academy Henderson Avenue, Scunthorpe, DN15 7RW

Age range: The anticipated age range is 9 to 18 years.

Time: The workshop will start at 9.30am (arrival from 9am).

Cost: There is a nominal fee of £5 for the day.  To be paid on the day. Cheques made payable to ‘North Lincolnshire Council’. Places are limited so booking is essential

Lunch: Students should bring their own lunch and refreshments as catering is not available.

Instruments: All instruments are welcome (minimum Grade One standard) Age 9 to 18

Parking: There is ample car parking space at the school. Please make your way to the main reception to sign in.

9.30am to 10.50am – First Class : Clog or instrumental

10.50am – Break

11am to 12.30pm – Second Class : Longsword or instrumental

12.30pm – Lunch (and musicians session)

1.15pm to 2.30pm – this will be a continuation of the morning to be determined on the day in response to demand

2.30pm to 3pm – Showcase Finale

Please note that due to safeguarding legislation parents of students attending will not be able to stay for the classes. However, you are welcome to join us at 2.30pm for the final showcase.
